CURRENTLY TAKING NEW STUDENTS · AUSTIN, TX

I spent years figuring
guitar out the hard way.

You don't have to.

I'm a working Austin musician who teaches guitar the way I wish I'd been taught. The shortcut isn't talent, it's a curriculum built by someone who learned every lesson the long way, so you can skip straight to playing.

No commitment.15 minutes, on Zoom or by phonewe'll talk about your goals and whether this is a fit.

I learned every
lesson the long way.
That's the gift.

THE REASON I TEACH

01 — Years of wrong turns
I spent years practicing things that didn't make me better.
Hours on exercises that didn't move the needle. Whole genres I avoided because nobody showed me how to enter them. I can spot every dead end now — because I walked into them. You won't have to.
02 — A real curriculum
The path I wish someone had laid out for me, built into every lesson.
Not a fixed book. A real teaching framework — ear training, theory, rhythm, repertoire, performance — sequenced the way I would have learned it if I could go back. You walk the path; I make sure no step is wasted.
03 — A reachable destination
You can realistically play like I do. That's not a sales line — it's the goal.
Working musician isn't a closed club. The students who stick with me are playing songs they once thought were out of reach. The Sessions — our monthly members-only gathering — exists to prove it to them in front of a room every month.

WORD OF MOUTH

★★★★★

He has been extremely patient with me, helping me step by step improve. I have gone from being a beginner to being able to do my own shows playing guitar. Worth every penny and more honestly! He goes above and beyond for his students. Thank you Sameer!

I've been playing guitar for a while and Sameer has brought me to a whole new level of understanding with the fretboard and rhythm elements that have just helped me along my songwriting journey. This is the guy you want to go to without a doubt. I highly recommend.

Sameer is an amazing teacher! He’s patient and makes the lessons fun. After only a few lessons, I can see the progress. I highly recommend him to anyone trying to pick up the guitar or to actually learn the fundamentals.

Sameer is really talented! Been taking lessons for a few months and really appreciate how he approaches teaching. We work on the basics, and root everything in music theory so I’m not just mindlessly fretting patterns I’ve memorized.

What you can do

Not your typical open mic

No mixing with comedy, poetry, or whatever else got on the list at the coffee shop. Just guitar.

Not a cold-stage audition

You're playing for a room of fellow students who want you to do well. The stakes are zero. The growth is real.

A room that actually gets it

Guitar players, for guitar players. Hosted by a working musician who's built the space he wishes he'd had.

The Sessions were the moment everything clicked. Playing in front of people who knew what I was trying to do changed how I practiced the rest of the month.

COMMON QUESTIONS

The stuff most people end up asking. If your question isn't here, the consult is the place — it's literally free.

  • Perfect! about a third of my students start that way. We'll spend the first few weeks on the fundamentals that let you actually play something you recognize, not just exercises.

  • I teach all three. Most students start on acoustic or electric depending on what music they want to play. If you don't have one yet, we'll talk through that on the consult before you spend money.

  • In-person is the premium experience, I can hear your tone, watch your hands closely, and you're physically in the same city as The Sessions. Remote works great too and many of my long-term students stay remote forever (and still come to The Sessions when they can). The consult is where we figure out what makes sense for you.

  • Yes, I work with kids and adults. For kids, I usually recommend the 30-minute format to start. We'll talk about age and temperament on the consult so I can give an honest take on fit.

  • Subscriptions are month-to-month. No long contracts. Life happens, pause or cancel when you need to. We'll figure it out.

  • We talk. About your goals, your background, what music you actually love. I'll be honest with you about whether I'm the right teacher and which format makes sense. There's no obligation and nothing to buy on the call.
